Recipe: Kate's Simple Maple Flavored Syrup

This is the recipe that inspired the Ergo Spout. Simple, economical and delicious!

1 c. boiling water
2 c. white sugar
1 t. maple flavoring
1 t. vanilla
1/4 t. salt
Bring the water to a boil. Add other ingredients and turn the heat down to low. Simmer on low until all the sugar dissolves. If you boil the syrup after adding the sugar the final syrup will crystallize more quickly. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
